Our membership comes from many diverse interests as well as backgrounds. We have members that are brand new to the radio hobby as well as members who are very experienced in Emergency Communications and Disaster Preparedness.

Many of our members are Amateur Radio Operators, and Tampa Bay REACT works closely with Hillsborough County ARES / RACES in both a non-emergency as well as emergency mode during times of disaster or severe weather. Along that same line, many of our members are CERT Trained and work closely with various CERT organizations in the Tampa Bay Region such as Greater Tampa CERT and Hillsborough County CERT Teams providing assistance with communications for CERT Deployments in the region.

Many of our members are National Weather Service SkyWarn Weather Spotters as well and work closely with providing up to the minute updates to the National Weather Service Office in Ruskin, FL.

Our members are required to take a minimum of ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 and ICS-800 from FEMA, which is free of charge and all online training at your own pace. In order to be a deployable resource other training is required, so please ask what the current minimum standards are and we will assist with getting you the required training.
